Pasta Masterclass (TEENS EVENT)

This was our second Pasta Masterclass at The Underground Cookery School and they did not disappoint.

We were welcomed with a very yummy selection of cookies and brownies, that had been expertly prepared by the chefs, and we all made a good job of sampling the goodies as we chatted and got to know each other before we got unleashed in the kitchen for the workshop! 

We had our priorities though and started with dessert. Preparing a delicious flourless chocolate torte which needed to bake for a while in the oven. We then moved on to the main event – the pasta. Made fresh by mixing all the ingredients and rolling the dough out with our hands – the messier the better! Using a professional pasta rolling and cutting machine we then turned the dough into tagliatelle ready to be hung up and dried out before cooking.

Next up we were taught some professional chopping techniques, preparing carrots, onions and garlic to go into the Bolognese sauce. The chefs explained that the best sauce must be left to simmer for a few hours to release all the flavours. Luckily, they had prepared one for us earlier so we could enjoy it together.

We all sat down together to enjoy our delicious handmade, two-course lunch of pasta Bolognese followed by a chocolate torte. It was great to see everyone feeling proud to enjoy something they had created together.

We are immensely grateful to The Underground Cookery School for providing this workshop free of charge to Teens Unite, and it was a fantastic opportunity to be able to return for yet another amazing cooking experience.
