Mindfulness & Yoga (TEENS EVENT)

Digital Session

“I found these techniques useful and can use them again when I need to." 

This digital event was hosted on Zoom to bring young people in a similar situation together for a relaxing afternoon of yoga and meditation. The session started with some meditation as an introduction to help everyone feel a little more relaxed before we began the twenty minute yoga flow. This sequence is an easy way to start your yoga journey if you are a beginner or looking to improve your techniques if you’re a regular yogi. You don’t have to keep up with everyone, you can take it at your own pace and limits.

Afterwards we practiced a 10 minute afternoon stretch reset along with breathing techniques.  

It was a very calming session, which could easily be tailored to suit everyone’s needs and enabled the teens to meet others in a relaxed environment. 

By taking part in this event, teens were able to: 
•    Enjoy an opportunity to relax and unwind
•    Get to know others in a similar situation, knowing they are not alone in feeling the way they do
•    Improve self-confidence and self-esteem
•    Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness 
•    Think more positively about life with/following cancer
