Junk Percussion Workshop (TEENS EVENT)

Actors Centre, Covent Garden

We had a barrel of laughs at our Junk Percussion workshop!

It kick-started with mocktails and milkshakes at TGI Fridays, where we were able to catch up and chat. It was the perfect opportunity for new Teens to get to know one another, especially as a few of the group will be joining our Activity Stay in August.

After plenty of chat and drinks we ventured to the venue where an arrangement of percussion instruments were ready and waiting to make some music - from the unusual barrels and recycled drums to tom tom drums and agogo bells.

Dan from Junk Tank led a fun, exciting and inclusive workshop, where no previous music experience was needed - just lots of enthusiasm and we had plenty. The group worked together, supported one another and created great music and lots of noise. We all went home with ‘walk the big dog’ going round and round in our minds, but also with a new level of confidence, friendship and definitely more rhythm than when we entered!

Dan was a great teacher with bundles of energy and created a safe place where everyone felt happy to take to the stage with solo performances as well. Thank you Dan – we had an absolute blast!

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Harry-Krish Mootoosamy Foundation for enabling us to host this fantastic workshop.
