Crafternoon

Crafternoon (TEENS EVENT)

Digital Session

Our craft activities are always popular as it's a chance to get creative, express yourself and learn something new. This month’s craft was learning how to draw a sunset with oil pastels! From fiery oranges and yellows to dark purples and reds, each young person demonstrated their own unique and creative interpretation of a sunset.

Whether a beginner or a keen drawer, everyone got involved, encouraging one another along the way. We talked all things craft, learnt some random, but cool facts about one another, and the results were amazing!

The session took place digitally over Zoom, it was great to bring the young people together over a shared activity, where they could talk to each other, make friends and realise that they are not alone in their situation.

As with our other craft activities, a pack was sent to each young person taking part ahead of the session, and now they all have a sketchpad to continue their drawing in!

By taking part in this activity, the young people were able to:
- Interact and socialise with others who get what they're going through
- Reduce their feelings of isolation and loneliness
- Feel a sense of achievement, improving self-confidence and self-esteem
- Express themselves through creativity
- Learn a new skill
