Throwing it back to Mental Health Awareness Week back in May, five young people that we support had the privilege of heading to Broadgate Towers for a Tote Bag Workshop! We had the help of 'Livvy Binteriors' which is a company owned by a lovely lady, selling products designed be teens, supporting mental health! The bags expressed the young people's raw emo-tions throughout their cancer diagnosis, as well as present challenges they face from the long-term effects of treatment. Each individual tote bag was produced through pure creativity and emotion... They all have stories behind them which can be found on the tag.
We are thrilled to announce that the 'Emotional Baggage' line has just recently dropped and are now available to buy on our website! Alongside brainstorming this fabulous strap line, the young people also utilised the workshop to think about images, wording and marketing strat-egies to help promote the bags. They are set at just £12 each, and every bag you buy is a do-nation that goes straight to Teens Unite, as we receive 100% of the proceeds! This will support other young people dealing with cancer and its lasting effects, by providing them with a community.
Be quick if you'd like to purchase one, as we have a limited number of each design! To sum-marise, here are the names of each tote bags as well as their meanings:
'Embrace Your Baggage' by Lily - I struggled a lot mentally post-cancer, so now I make it my goal to appreciate beautiful little things every day. I hope this bag reminds you that despite your struggles, you can build yourself back up and create wonderful experiences.
'Resistance' by Louise - 'Resistance' refers to the strength of staying true to yourself, without cancer changing the person you are.
'Love Yourself' by Tamieka - Cancer turned my life upside down. I had to mourn the person I was. No matter what you're going through, embrace your emotions - it makes you who you are. Love yourself.
'Just Tired' by Husna - "Following my diagnosis and treatment, I felt tired all the time. This side effect impacts the way you live your life, even long after treatment has come to an end."
'Togetherness' by Huma - "My bag is an honour of everyone who supported me during my difficult journey”.
