Day two of the Reunion Stay is coming to a close - and what a day it has been!
Today we split into two groups for a creative Mosaic Session and Tai Chi/Martial Arts Workshop with Kim Leng and Matt from Hu Long Temple.
Kim Leng and Matt are long term supporters of Teens Unite and once again they provided a fantastic workshop, teaching the young people valuable mindfulness skills that they can carry forward in their everyday lives. We learned some new breathing and mindfulness techniques which are important in helping us to unwind when needed, this week and beyond the Reunion Stay. Kim Leng and Matt ended their workshop with a mesmerising Tai Chi demonstration. We are so grateful to the support they continue to provide Teens Unite.
Meanwhile, our second group got creative with our Mosaics Workshop. The Teens were able to carefully select their tiles and create unique patterns to decorate foam bricks, symbolising the bricks that will build the House of Teens Unite. This workshop was a fantastic opportunity to get together and express ourselves creatively whilst discussing our visions and wishes for The House of Teens Unite.
We were also delighted to be joined by two very familiar faces today - Teens Unite Ambassador and I'm a Celebrity Winner Georgia Toffolo, and Love Island's Alex George. They were able to meet some of the young people we support and see first hand the difference they are making by taking on the Taj Mahal Cycling Challenge later this year!
After a bite to eat, we headed back to the house for our ever popular Karaoke Night! From The Greatest Showman to Drake, these young people certainly know how to entertain! There are smiles and constant laughter all round.
It is truly magical seeing the bond these young people have formed with one another through Teens Unite Activity Stays and Events. Our final day of the Reunion Stay is fast approaching but we've still got so much in store! Follow Teens Unite on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to see what we get up to tomorrow!
Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
