TUI and Teens Unite - a new partnership

A global survey by Pricewaterhouse Coopers showed that 64% of CEO's are making Corporate Social Responsibility core to their business.  Armed with this information we have there been focussing our efforts on establishing new partnerships and are delighted to report that we now have a very large, household name partnering with us for the next two years.

The TUI crew at Stansted Airport nominated Teens Unite to be the beneficiaries of support through the TUI Care Foundation, and have committed to raising funds over the period of the partnership to support 60 young people, aged 13-24, who have battled or are battling cancer to take part in a series of workshops from our Positive Steps program.  The aims of the workshops are

  • Improving social and peers support networks - meeting other young people in similar circumstances
  • Reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness
  • Providing a sense of achievement, improving self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Encouraging young people to test their physical and mental strength
  • Encouraging team work and interaction
  • Encouraging young people to think positively about life with and beyond their illness
  • Setting life goals for the future. Motivating young people to fulfil their dreams and aspirations
  • Developing skills such as team work and public speaking
  • Experiencing the working world
  • Rebuilding confidence and motivation to return to education or employment, for example and plan for a successful future beyond cancer.

We are delighted to be the beneficiaries of such generous support, and thank the crew at Stansted for their nomination.  If you're flying in to Stansted on a TUI flight, please listen out for the crew talking about Teens Unite and our work.  And, if you can spare some change for their collections, you know that it will be going to a very good cause.
