Show your mum some love

Mother’s Day is here and we're staying home so the usual bunch of flowers and chocolates may not make it to mum today, however we will be finding many different ways to show them some love. But for too many, Mother’s Day will hold a different meaning.

For the 2,555 young people receiving a cancer diagnosis in the UK each year, it will mean treatments that can affect fertility and they will be asked to make decisions about parenthood before they’re ready. Sadly, for some, being a parent may never be an option.

Conversely, as a parent nothing can ever prepare you to hear that your child has cancer. The reality and impact of supporting a child, through diagnosis, during treatment and beyond is a journey that can be devastating. For the young person fighting cancer, aside from the many emotions it can bring with it, diagnosis and treatment can very often create feelings of guilt about how it is affecting their mum.

This Mother’s Day help a young person fighting cancer by swapping the usual box of chocolates or bunch of flowers for a donation of £5, £10 or £15 on behalf of your mum to Teens Unite. Her gift will create lasting and positive support for a Teen fighting cancer. Text TEENS plus your donation amount, for example TEENS 10, to 70085.

Our gift for you - download your Mother's Day card and show your mum just how special her gift has been for young people fighting cancer.

Facebook frame - celebrate your donation and tell everyone how much you love your mum by downloading our Facebook frame for your profile picture (available from 8th March)
