Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, so throughout March we’ll be sharing stories from some of the young people we support about their diagnosis and the effects it had on their lives.

According to Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, three quarters of women are diagnosed once the cancer has already spread. This makes treatment more difficult, and is the reason why many charities across the UK will be coming together this March to raise awareness and aim to improve diagnosis, treatment and survival of women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.

Zoe, a young person supported by Teens Unite, was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer aged 15. Click here to read her story in which she tells of the difficulty of hearing the devastating words ‘You have cancer,’ especially at such a young age.
