We are so proud to announce that Teens Unite Volunteer, Joe, has been shortlisted for the Todd Waldock Young Entrepreneur Award at the 2019 Broxbourne Youth Awards!
Joe is an outstanding individual; in 2018 alone, he donated in excess of 80 volunteer hours and whilst working with our Teens Team on our recent Discover You event, he secured product donations to the value of £19,000.
Joe’s volunteering has also seen him boost fundraising by supporting the charity at events and spreading awareness of Teens Unite through leaflet deliveries.
Most notable though is Joe’s enthusiastic commitment to volunteering at workshops and activities run for our beneficiaries. By Joe being himself, he has an amazing ability to put the young people at ease and enable them to feel normal, which is a feeling that most haven’t experienced since their diagnosis.
Our Volunteer Relationship Manager, Nicky, said: “Through Joe’s volunteering he is a welcoming face, a friend, a supporter, an advocate for Teens Unite and we are so proud and lucky to have Joe as a volunteer. He is an admirable young man who is so deserving of this award and recognition for all that he does for Teens Unite.”
We are wishing Joe the best of luck for the Broxbourne Youth Awards Ceremony, which is to be held this Friday, 29th March at The Spotlight Theatre.

Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
