In the depths of Teens Unite's offices within a former police station, are 16 original cells. On 18th June, we welcomed a group of 'inmates' to serve time behind bars, all in the name of charity.
The Lock-In event was supported by the local police force, who kindly volunteered their time to support the fundraising event, which raised over £6,000 profit for Teens Unite to help us support more young people fighting cancer.
With the help of the officers, our inmates were placed under arrest and escorted to their cells, before having their fingerprints and mug shots taken and being put under the spotlight in the former interview rooms, where they faced police questioning.
The police officers then took the time to answer questions from the inmates about their roles and how they help in the community, as well as sharing some of their experiences from their policing careers.
Dinner took place in the former holding cage, followed by a warm drink before it was time for the inmates to retire to their individual cells, ready for lights out.
Despite some slight disruption from a phantom snorer, everyone made it through the night and walked free the next morning.
Amongst the inmates were Georgia and Derry, two young people we have the privilege of supporting. They wanted to take part in the fundraising event to ensure other teenagers and young adults receive the same support from Teens Unite that they have.
It was such a memorable evening and you can see more of what we got up to here.
We would like to thank our inmates - Georgia, Derry, Jason, Melodie, Gary and Oshea, along with the police officers who brought the event to life.
Are you up for the challenge? Our next Lock-In event will take place on 23rd September and you can register your interest to take part now!

Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
