Fordy Runs Team to take on Ragnar Relay in aid of Teens Unite

Chris Ford, Teens Unite Ambassador and Founder of Fordy Runs; an online community for runners of all abilities, is preparing to lead a team in the Ragnar White Cliffs relay to raise funds and awareness for Teens Unite.

The Fordy Runs online community has over 1,500 members and Broxbourne resident, Chris is at the heart of it. He has become an iconic running figure in the local area and further afield, as he inspires the ‘everyday runner’ through his social media platforms and motivational vlogs; which all began when he was training for the London Marathon in 2017. Since then, he has been an Ambassador for the National Running Show 2019 and rubbed shoulders with running royalty; Roger Black, Paula Radcliffe and Iwan Thomas.

As an Ambassador for Teens Unite, Chris has gathered a team of 10 runners, including himself, to complete the Ragnar White Cliffs relay on 21st – 22nd September to support Teens Unite’s work in ensuring that no young person faces cancer alone. The team will complete a 170 mile course in 24 hours, venturing from Sittingbourne, to Dover and onto Brighton.

The route will venture through picturesque towns and rolling fields, and includes night-time runs and setting up home in a van. Each member of the team will run three legs, with each leg ranging between three and 11 miles.

Chris has said: “As an influential figure within the Running Community I wanted to take on a challenge and use that to raise as much money as possible for an amazing local charity, Teens Unite. It breaks my heart hearing of what the guys and girls who are battling with cancer are coping with and as a parent myself I am just lost for words when trying to comprehend what they must be going through. Seeing the work Teens Unite does inspires me to try and help. It will be an epic adventure, but if we can inspire people to donate then it will be worth it!”

Joining Chris on the team, will be participants from across the country; Matt, Billy, Eddie, Bryce, Chris, Stephen, James, Steve and Iain. The funds and awareness raised by the Fordy Runs team throughout this challenge will help us to continue making a positive difference to the lives of young people overcoming cancer.
