What an exciting few months it's been for The Jailbreak Cafe since it opened in November. Not only have we been super busy with all of our lovely customers; we've also had visits from film crews and radio reporters too!
After moving our head office to the old Police Station in Hoddesdon last year, we wanted to open the former custody suite and cells to the general public. We decided to transform it into The Jailbreak Cafe; and it's been getting quite a lot of attention!
For those that visit regularly, you will have seen that we've been closed for a few days here and there, as a production company has been hiring the custody suite and cells for filming - our premises are famous!
You can spot the old Hoddesdon Police Station, on the latest series of 'Released to Kill Again', and keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming Channel 5 series on Belmarsh prison!
If you're a BBC Three Counties listener, you would have also heard us on Jonathan Vernon-Smith's show at the weekend, as part of the Treasure Quest feature! We were joined by a reporter who visited us at The Jailbreak Cafe and reported back to the BBC radio studio about the transformation!
If you haven't visited us yet, please do! Our opening hours are as follows:
Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 2pm
And keep an eye out on our social media for our special Saturday openings!
Today we received a visit from some of the team at...

Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
