Taj Mahal Cycling Challenge: Meet the Team

With six days to go until 29 cyclists take to India for the Taj Mahal Cycling Challenge, it's time for our final 'Meet the Team' instalment...

Viv Edwards

Describe your cycling ability/experience: Medium - I've taken on previous Teens Unite Cycling Challenges

Why did you want to take on this challenge for Teens Unite? To experience India, promote Teens Unite and also to aide support to the school visits whilst in India

What are you most looking forward to (or not looking forward to!) about the challenge? I'm not looking forward to cycling in intense heat!

Why should people donate? To raise funds for The House of Teens Unite so young people fighting cancer can come together.

Sarah Kershaw

What is your day job? Sitting behind a desk crunching numbers!

Describe your cycling ability/experience: This will be my fourth cycling challenge – it doesn’t get any easier!

Why did you want to take on this challenge for Teens Unite? Because, it’s a small price to pay by spending a few days getting saddle sore, compared to the challenges that the young people, being helped by Teens Unite, have to face.

What are you most looking forward to (or not looking forward to!) about the challenge? I’m looking forward to the team camaraderie and belly laughs, optimism and energy, in the face of adversity. Meeting the local people, and knowing that when the Taj Mahal is in sight, it’s nearly over! I’m not looking forward to hills (the enemy).

Why should people donate? People should donate to support Teens Unite in the work they do to ensure young people don't have to face cancer alone.

Sam Rigby

What is your day job? Director of Colourways Ltd, a Marketing Agency in Hertfordshire

Describe your cycling ability/experience: My cycling ability is average, however I managed to cycle across Vietnam & Cambodia in 2017 to support Teens Unite and loved every pedal turning moment!

Why did you want to take on this challenge for Teens Unite? I have teenage boys and if there is anything more important, it’s the lives and health of children.

What are you most looking forward to (or not looking forward to!) about the challenge? I’m looking forward to seeing India from the saddle and not looking forward to the up hill cycling.

Why should people donate?  Teens Unite is a local charity that make a real difference to people’s lives.

What are you most looking forward to (or not looking forward to!) about the challenge? I'm really looking forward to experiencing some of the culture of India.

Why should people donate? To help Teens Unite raise more funds to support young people fighting cancer.
