Costa Rica Cycling Challenge

Tomorrow, fourteen incredible supporters of Teens Unite are jetting off to Costa Rica. But this is no relaxing holiday; they’ll be cycling between 46 and 67km every day to raise money for Teens Unite.

Many have been training hard – it won’t be an easy route but the sense of achievement they’ll get when they complete the challenge and the memories they’ll make will make the intense pedalling worth it.

The cyclists will get to see some stunning sights, and all have their personal reasons as to why they’re taking on this challenge. Whatever their reason, they’re all cycling with one goal in common: to help Teens Unite support more young people overcoming cancer.

Here’s what a couple of the team had to say about their upcoming challenge:

“I work for a major global travel management company which takes up most of my time but outside of work, I started working with Teens Unite about 2 years ago. Since then I have met some truly amazing Teens and I have learnt about the tough times that these amazing young people go through. If I can add value by helping at events, supporting them on challenges and generally raising awareness for this great charity then I will be happy.

I have never been to Costa Rica before and whilst the ride looks gruelling I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for tomorrow.”

"I was introduced to Teens Unite by my good friend Nicki who also persuaded me to take up this challenge.

Having heard the moving stories of the many incredibly brave young people this amazing charity supports was all the motivation I needed to take up this challenge, to keep pushing those pedals and ignoring the saddle sores and raise as much money as possible for this great cause."

All of us at Teens Unite would like to wish the best of luck to Adele, Nicki, Nicola, Sarah K, Jayne, Lorraine, Tom, Viv, Sarah W, David, Louise, Lisa, Nav and our CEO and Co-Founder Debbie, who is heading to Costa Rica for her fifth overseas challenge. Thank you all for helping us to make a difference to young people overcoming cancer.
