We can't believe our 2019 Activity Stay is drawing to a close. We're gutted it's almost over, but that didn't stop us from having another incredible day today!
The day began with some pampering; we were able to enjoy facial treatments as well as mini manicures - the perfect preparation for our Celebration Dinner later this evening! Everyone was completely relaxed as they enjoyed being pampered by our beauticians.
We were also grateful to be visited by Chris and Jake from New Skills Academy, who support Teens Unite by providing online learning opportunities for the young people we support. These courses are so valuable to our beneficiaries; they provide something for them to focus on whether they are undergoing treatment, have a little free time or are preparing to go back to education or work.
After lunch, the young people began to prepare their Apprentice Challenge stands for their business pitch which they'll deliver to our judges before our Celebration Dinner. They have received a printed sample of their designs which look amazing on display, and they've all produced a board that shows their process - from the brainstorming to financial calculations and their marketing plans. We just know our judges are going to be blown away by their work!
We can't wait for our Celebration Dinner tonight, where we'll be welcoming a number supporters of Teens Unite so they can see what their generosity and support means to the young people we support. Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
