It's our final day of the Activity Stay and although we're sad it's over, we know that this isn't goodbye - it's 'see you soon.' This is just the start of what we hope will be a very special journey with Teens Unite for all of the young people who have joined us this week.
This week, the young people have achieved so much. Last night at our Celebration Dinner, many of them thanked the Teens Unite team, however it is the young people who have done all the hard work. We provide the facilities and activities, but it is them who form strong friendships with each other, build each other up into such confident individuals and inspire one another to live their best life.
We are truly exhausted after a week packed full of activities, but it has been amazing to try new things and discover talents we didn't even know we had! From archery and rock climbing to a portrait masterclass, junk percussion workshop and The Apprentice Challenge, there has been something for everyone to throw themselves into and be proud of their achievements.
Our Celebration Dinner last night was so special, and we were thrilled to be joined by a number of new and existing supporters of Teens Unite who we hope will continue to be involved with the charity, after hearing some of the young people speak about what their support enables us to do. We were also delighted to announce that Team #NoLimits won our Apprentice Challenge with a fantastic t-shirt design, which we hope to produce and sell in the near future.
So, as our 2019 Activity Stay comes to an end, we want to say a huge thank you to all of our supporters and volunteers for helping us to enable these young people to come together and form friendships and positive memories with those who understand what they are going through.
We cannot wait to see these young people again at Teens Unite events in the near future, and bring on the 2020 Reunion Stay!
Detailed below are our events for Teens, Volunteers, Fundraising and Challenges.
Volunteering with Teens Unite has changed my personality and outlook on life. When I hear all the amazing things the teens say about Teens Unite, I can tell they mean every word.
Teens Unite isn't just a charity to me, it was the beginning of restarting my life.
When Elliot started receiving the support of Teens Unite, I could see a change in him straightaway. His outlook on life was becoming positive again and I gained strength from seeing my little boy accepting what had happened and starting to move forward.
I needed help and that's where Teens Unite came in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason I met Teens Unite was to save my life.
With Teens Unite, I finally realised that I could climb out of this massive hole that I had been digging because I wasn't alone anymore.
If it wasn't for Teens Unite, I wouldn't be where I am now. They have been really supportive and given me the strength to push myself and not give up.
