<p>58 young people, alongisde some of their family and friends, joined Teens Unite for our annual ‘Discover You’ event, hosted at the incredible Samsung KX venue. The day equipped TYA’s with the confidence, motivation and skills to take the next steps in reaching their goals and aspirations, without cancer holding them back.</p>
<p>We were joined by speakers Mesha Moinirad and Jonathon Acott who shared their personal experiences to inspire and motivate everyone. TYA’s also enjoyed a variety of breakout sessions : in the morning session were our 'Proffessioal' sessions. These included a Linkedin Masterclass with Rebecca Long, Senior Fashion Category Manager at Ebay, 'Mastering Communication' workshop with Mesha Moinirad and 'Right role for the right person' session with Gina Kingsland, HR director at Fishpools. With the afternoon, came our creative breakouts! TYA's could choose from a Cupcake Decorating masterclass with Cristy Sharp, star of The Great Briish Bake Off; a 'Podcasting taster session' with Taylor James, founder and host of 'The Waffle Shop' podcast; A conversation on sport and fitness after cancer with Ryan Collard of 'Cancer Lads'. </p>
<p>Special surprises included a performance from rising star Lex Gibbon, who entertained the young people with her amazing singing voice over lunch. And not to mention our very competitive game of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament' which got everyone chatting, laughing and getting to know one another.</p>
<p>It really was such an amazing day, and we were so pleased to see both familiar and new faces alike. Following the event, 93% of TYA's reported feeling equipped and ready to take the next steps in employment, and 98% discovered more about themselves and the goals they want to achieve.</p>
<p>We don't know about you guys, but we can't wait for next year!</p>

<p>58 young people, alongisde some of their family and friends, joined Teens Unite for our annual ‘Discover You’ event, hosted at the incredible Samsung KX venue. The day equipped TYA’s with the confidence, motivation and skills to take the next steps in reaching their goals and aspirations, without cancer holding them back.</p>
<p>We were joined by speakers Mesha Moinirad and Jonathon Acott who shared their personal experiences to inspire and motivate everyone. TYA’s also enjoyed a variety of breakout sessions : in the morning session were our 'Proffessioal' sessions. These included a Linkedin Masterclass with Rebecca Long, Senior Fashion Category Manager at Ebay, 'Mastering Communication' workshop with Mesha Moinirad and 'Right role for the right person' session with Gina Kingsland, HR director at Fishpools. With the afternoon, came our creative breakouts! TYA's could choose from a Cupcake Decorating masterclass with Cristy Sharp, star of The Great Briish Bake Off; a 'Podcasting taster session' with Taylor James, founder and host of 'The Waffle Shop' podcast; A conversation on sport and fitness after cancer with Ryan Collard of 'Cancer Lads'. </p>
<p>Special surprises included a performance from rising star Lex Gibbon, who entertained the young people with her amazing singing voice over lunch. And not to mention our very competitive game of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament' which got everyone chatting, laughing and getting to know one another.</p>
<p>It really was such an amazing day, and we were so pleased to see both familiar and new faces alike. Following the event, 93% of TYA's reported feeling equipped and ready to take the next steps in employment, and 98% discovered more about themselves and the goals they want to achieve.</p>
<p>We don't know about you guys, but we can't wait for next year!</p>
