Clip & Climb (TEENS EVENT)

Clip & Climb, London

After an amazing session in March, we returned to Clip N Climb ready to take on the challenge with a new group of young people, and they were all excited for the challenge ahead!

Clip N Climb is an indoor climbing centre, where the young people we support can test their physical strength following their cancer diagnosis, all the while being supported and encouraged by each other, and the fantastic team at Clip N Climb.

The young people get so much from being with others who have been through a similar situation and are able to challenge themselves in a really positive and safe way.

Without exception, they all achieved more than they thought they could, pushed themselves to new heights, took on climbing walls of varying difficultly, the leap of faith and a terrifyingly huge drop slide!

After all the exersion we took off to enjoy bite to eat, where the group relaxed and shared their experiences - new friendships were formed.

We cannot wait to book our next visit and we are super excited about our upcoming trip Chelski, in October, which is next door!

If you are ready to test your physical strength or want to challenge yourself please take a look at our Teen event to Chelski and keep an eye out for future events like this!

Here's what some of the Teens had to say

Made me push myself physically and let me hang out with friends and just have a positive, fun time’ – James, 18, Brain Tumour

Made me realise I am more capable than I thought and that my illness doesn't mean that I can't make it to the top of the wall’ – Amanda, 22, Hypoplastic MDS

‘It has helped me to Feel like I’m normal and not different to other people’ – Jodie, 16, Medulloblastoma

We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Clip N Climb for making us feel so welcome, supporting all the young people, encouraging everyone and giving us the opportunity to provide this fantastic experience. Your support is helping us to make a difference to the lives of young people fighting cancer.

A big thank you also to Aman, Teens Unite Committee Member and long term supporter, who also joined us and supported the group during their visit and as always bought great fun and laughter to the whole afternoon.
