Around The World Challenge (CHALLENGE)

Anywhere

For the past eight years, Teens Unite has organised bespoke, overseas challenges to iconic countries around the world.

2020 was the first time since we launched our overseas challenges in 2013, that we didn’t see our #teensteam taking on an overseas challenge and with the world still in such an unsettled place we don’t know what 2021 will entail and therefore when we will next be able to take on an Overseas challenge again.

We have put our thinking caps on to try and create something engaging for our supporters (as we know how much you all miss travelling abroad as much as we do). So, with your help we are launching our first Virtual Overseas Challenge - our goal is to travel around the world – that’s 25,000 miles!

Every pedal you make and every step you take will make a life-changing difference to teens and young adults fighting cancer each day.

How does it work?

We are challenging you to walk, cycle or run as many miles as you can between 1st March to 30th April. Each participant’s miles will count toward the campaign goal of at least 25,000 miles during the two months.

Set your own mileage target to achieve throughout the month, for example 150 miles.
This is a virtual challenge so you can cycle, walk or run whenever or wherever suits you. Early morning before you start your day, on your lunchbreak, through the countryside over a weekend or even at night – the choice is yours.

Registration fee: £10 (every registered participant will receive a Teens Unite sports t-shirt so you can showcase your sense of pride in supporting young people fighting cancer)

Sponsorship: No minimum amount. Raise what you can!
Raising sponsorship helps Teens Unite support young people fighting cancer to live their best life. Every penny you raise will enable a young cancer patient to access our activities every month to ensure they don’t feel alone during treatment.

We can’t achieve this goal alone so please invite your friends and family to take part:

  • Create some healthy competition
  • Sharing your distances completed (full integration with the running app, Strava).
  • Keeping tabs on your sponsorship totals
  • Add photographs of you taking part.

Share on social media to show everyone how fabulous you are for supporting Teens Unite. You never know, you might just inspire someone else too.

Going virtual has some fabulous advantages for everyone.
Run/ Walk as much or as little each day. Stay motivated and keep active - sometimes it's hard to get in gear. Having a target is a great incentive to push yourself further than ever.

Tracking Your Miles
Whether you run, cycle or walk once, twice or three times during the day, total your miles and submit them via your Enthuse page directly from Strava.

What you will receive:
Personalised digital certificate
Regular motivation from the team
Opportunities to win some amazing spot prizes!

So how far will you go? It’s up to you. You can do:
50 miles over 30 days – that’s as far as Edinburgh to Glasgow or London to Brighton.
100 miles over 30 days – that’s like riding from Oxford to Cambridge.
250 miles over 30 days – that’s the same distance as London to Paris.

We look forward to you joining the team and helping us travel Around the World while supporting Teens Unite.
