Visit The Big Cat Sanctuary (TEENS EVENT)

The Big Cat Sanctuary, Kent

"It was an amazing experience and I learnt so much."

The Big Cat Sanctuary is set in 32 peaceful acres of land and is home to beautiful, yet endangered cats both large and small. We had an amazing experience visiting the sanctuary and meeting some of the resident cats including Lions, Tigers, Pumas and Cheetah's.

The sun was shining and it was such a memorable day being able to bring the young people we support back together again through our face-to-face events.

The day included a guided tour, where we learnt more about the different species within the European Endangered Species Breeding Programme. We were able to see the cats up close as the team at the sanctuary fed the cats in front of us.

Everyone had a chance to chat and get to know each other over a BBQ and enjoy the beautiful outdoor space.

The feedback showed that 100% of the young people who attended felt less isolated following the event and 100% felt part of the Teens Unite family.

By coming along to this event, young people were able to:
•    Interact and socialise with others who get what they're going through
•    Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness
•    Improve self-confidence and self-esteem
•    Enjoy a new experience with the friends they’ve made
