Tales and Tiaras (EVENT)

The Dorchester

On Friday 30th November we held our annual fundraising event, Tales and Tiaras, in the stunning settings of The Dorchester. We are now thrilled to announce that on the night, we raised an incredible £103,303.89. Our heartfelt thanks go to all our guests and those who helped us make Tales and Tiaras such a spectacular event for all.

We were once again delighted to have the support of our headline sponsors Islandbridge Capital. Their continued support over the years has helped Teens Unite to grow into the charity it is today, and host a series of events like Tales and Tiaras.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Ricoh, who provided all of the printing from brochures to place settings and tickets for this event. Their support doesn’t stop there; they provide printing all year for all of our events and campaigns, ensuring that we can put more of the money we raise towards our work in uniting young people overcoming cancer.

Our hosts for the night were Adrian Chiles and Charlie Webster, who did a stellar job, and we are so grateful for the time they gave in their busy schedules to support Teens Unite.

We were especially honoured to be joined by a team of the young people we support on Friday, who gave their time to support the Teens Unite team in hosting the event. They did a fantastic job of ensuring our guests had a highly enjoyable and memorable evening, and we were proud that they were able to represent all of the young people we support at this special event for Teens Unite.

Throughout the night, there were plenty of opportunities for our guests to take home some fantastic prizes in our raffle, silent auction and a game of Heads and Tails. Congratulations to our top bidders and winning ticket holders, and a huge thank you to all who took part and donated prizes. The profits made on the night will go such a long way in helping us to ensure that young people overcoming cancer don’t have to face their battle alone.

If you’ve seen our pictures on social media, you might have noticed a few familiar faces at the event. It was great to be joined by Ellie Brown, Samira Mighty, Alexandra Cane, Colin Jackson CBE, Nathan Massey, Cara De La Hoyde, Nicole Bass, Josh Myers, Courtney Green and Casey Batchelor - we are grateful for the support they gave us on the night, and for their efforts in spreading the word about Teens Unite within their own networks.

Each year, we share a video with our guests about the young people we support so they can see first-hand how far their support on the night goes in helping young people overcoming cancer to rebuild their lives. This year, we had the privilege of sharing the heartbreaking story of Kirushni. At just 21 years old, she’s been documenting her journey as she fights cancer for the third time. Following the video, we invited our guests to make a pledge towards the first of the bricks needed to build The House of Teens Unite. Nearly half of our guests made a pledge on the night and contributed to the building of our wall on the stage, helping us to get one step closer to making The House of Teens Unite a reality.

On the night, our guests were treated to a line-up of world-class entertainment. Kicking off the evening was singer/songwriter Joel Rothwell, followed by a mesmerising dance performance by Kelsey Miller. Kelsey has been supported by Teens Unite following his cancer diagnosis, and we were proud to see him take to the stage to help us to reach out to more young people like him.

Also taking to the Tales and Tiaras stage was singer/impressionist Jess Robinson (Britain’s Got Talent, The One Show, The Imitation Game). Her mind-blowing impressions were a hit with our guests, keeping us laughing throughout the whole set.

Rounding off this incredible evening was internationally acclaimed 14-piece showband Club Live. Their energetic performance kept us all dancing into the early hours, with a two hour set of classic hits.
