Graffiti Workshop (TEENS EVENT)

London

“We had a lot of time to explore our creativity and learnt new skills. The place we ate was also really fun.”

We met Zincstyles, a freelance artist and muralist specialising in graffiti on Wednesday 29th September. He inspired the group to create a 6ft mural of the word 'unite' in the longest legal graffiti tunnel in London. The young people that attended encouraged each other to explore their own creativity using the techniques they had just learned from Zincstyles, creating such an outstanding piece of art work within the infamous Leake Street Arches.

After taking photos of the graffiti and exploring the many designs that cover the tunnel walls, we had the chance to sit down together for some good food, fun and games at Draughts. This enabled everyone to get to know each other and enjoy time together after taking part in the days activity.

By coming along to this event, young people were able to:
•    Interact and socialise with others who get what they're going through
•    Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness
•    Express themselves through creativity
•    Feel a sense of achievement, improving self-confidence and self-esteem
•    Enjoy a new experience with the friends they’ve made
