Couch Classic Tuscan cycle challenge (EVENT)

Tuscany

This years 'Couch Classic' cycling event saw 58 partcipants rise to the challenge of completing a mammoth 236km journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany in just three days.

The event was generously sponsored by supporters of Teens Unite, Islandbridge Capital Ltd and Sunseeker London, along with kit sponsors Boodles, MTU, De Burgo, GB Construction, Augur Group and Complete Waterproofing.

Now in it's third year, the event was initiated by Gary Couch, Chair Trustee, in memory of his father.

Joining Gary was Teens Unite's CEO and Founder, Debbie Pezzani, Co-Founder Karen Millen OBE, trustees David and Viv and Teen, Tyler.

Tyler was was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, an aggressive blood cancer, at the age of 18.  After enduring six months of intensive chemotherapy, he sadly relapsed and had to undergo further treatment, leading to a full bone marrow transplant. A weakened immune system meant Tyler had to overcome numerous infections along the way before entering remission two years ago. We're so incredibly proud of just how far Tyler has come on his journey and for completing the Couch Classic challenge.

Speaking of the experience, Tyler said: “I made it! After a gruelling few days in Tuscany, I have finally achieved my goal. This charity means so much to me and so many others. Teens Unite helps us achieve what we could have done prior to being diagnosed with cancer. It’s helped me have more confidence and feel less isolated after a long battle locked in a room for months.”

Together, the team has raised a staggering £97,000 to help us unite young people and rebuild their lives following a cancer diagnosis.

A huge congratulations and thank you to all of those who took part.
